INGREDIENTS PILCHARDS PATTIES
- 400g can Lucky Star Pilchards in Tomato Sauce,
- 410g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed,
- 3 slices whole-wheat bread, finely chopped,
- 1 egg,
- 3 tbsp (45ml) chutney,
- 10ml garlic & herb seasoning (Ina Paarman),
- brown onion soup powder.
Drain the pilchards but reserve the sauce. Mash the chickpeas and pilchards together. Add the finely chopped bread, egg, chutney and herbs. Divide the mixture into 6 balls and shape it into patties. Pour some of the soup powder on a plate and dust both sides of the patties with the soup powder. Transfer the patties to a lightly greased Oval Utility Dish / Large Oval Lid / All-in-One-Dish. Put it in a cold oven, set it to 160ºC and bake for 30 minutes or until done. Prepare the Chakalaka Sauce while the patties bake.
INGREDIENTS CHAKALAKA
- 10ml oil,
- 1 small onion, finely chopped,
- 15ml white vinegar,
- 5ml sugar,
- 1 tomato, finely chopped,
- 70g frozen carrots (Julienne),
- 2ml Chilli flakes,
- reserved tomato sauce of the Pilchards.
Add 10ml oil to the Individual Gourmet Roaster. Add the chopped onion and microwave for 5 minutes on high (stirring twice). Add the rest of the ingredients and microwave for 5 minutes on high (stirring twice during the cooking process).
Layer your burgers with salad leaves, gherkin slices, your Pilchard pattie, mayonnaise/plain seasoned
yoghurt and your homemade Chakalaka. Enjoy!!!
BESTANDDELE PILCHARDS PATIES
- 400 g blikkie Lucky Star Pilchards in tamatiesous,
- 410 g blik kekerertjies, gedreineer en afgespoel,
- 3 snye volkoringbrood, fyn gekap,
- 1 eier,
- 3 e (45 ml) blatjang,
- 10ml knoffel en kruie geurmiddels (Ina Paarman),
- bruin uiesoppoeier.
Dreineer die pilchards maar hou die sous voor. Druk die kekerertjies en pilchards saam. Voeg die fyngekapte brood, eier, blatjang en kruie by. Verdeel die mengsel in 6 balletjies en vorm dit in patties. Gooi van die soppoeier op ‘n bord en bestrooi beide kante van die patties met die soppoeier. Plaas die patties oor na ‘n liggies gesmeerde Oval Utility Dish / Large Oval Lid / All-in-One-Dish. Sit dit in ‘n koue oond, stel dit op 160ºC en bak vir 30 minute of tot gaar. Berei die Chakalaka-sous voor terwyl die patties bak.
BESTANDDELE CHAKALAKA
- 10 ml olie,
- 1 klein ui, fyn gekap,
- 15 ml wit asyn,
- 5 ml suiker,
- 1 tamatie, fyn gekap,
- 70 g bevrore wortels (Julienne),
- 2 ml brandrissievlokkies,
- gereserveerde tamatiesous van die Pilchards.
Voeg 10ml olie by die Individual Gourmet Roaster. Voeg die gekapte ui by en mikrogolf vir 5 minute op hoog (roer twee keer). Voeg die res van die bestanddele by en mikrogolf vir 5 minute op hoog (roer twee keer tydens die kookproses).
Pak jou hamburgers laag met slaaiblare, agurkiesskywe, jou Pilchard-pattie, mayonnaise/gewone geur
jogurt en jou tuisgemaakte Chakalaka. Geniet!!!
