RECIPE / RESEP
INGREDIENTS DOUGH
- 125 ml or more smooth apricot jam
- 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 125 ml butter/margarine lightly melted
- 375 ml cake flour
- ¾ tsp salt
INGREDIENTS SAUCE
- 625 ml water
- 250 ml sugar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 3 ml salt
Mix apricot jam, bicarbonate of soda and butter. Add the remaining ingredients. Do not use any extra liquids, if the batter is too stiff, use more apricot jam. Mix the ingredients for sauce and microwave on High for 6 – 10 minutes in an Argilla Classic Salad/Cake Pudding Ring—scoop spoons of batter into the boiled sauce. Microwave the sauce dumplings on High for 5 minutes. Turn the dumplings over and microwave for another 5 minutes. Leave to stand for 2 minutes. Serve with custard/cream or ice cream.
NOTE: Alternatively, boil the sauce in the microwave, scoop the dumplings in the sauce and bake in the oven at 180⁰C for 35 – 40 minutes.
BESTANDDELE DEEG
- 125 ml of meer appelkooskonfyt
- 2 t koeksoda
- 125 ml botter of margarine net smeerbaar
- 375 ml koekmeel
- ¾ t sout
BESTANDDELE SOUS
- 625 ml water
- 250 ml suiker
- 1 t gemmer
- 3 ml sout
Meng appelkooskonfyt, koeksoda en botter. Voeg die res van deeg bestanddele by. Geen vloeistof moet bygevoeg word nie, gebruik nog appelkooskonfyt as die deeg te styf is. Maak die sous: Meng al die stroopbestanddele en kook dit vir 6 – 10 minute op Hoog in die Argilla Classic Salad/Cake Pudding Ring in die mikrogolfoond. Skep lepels vol van die deegbeslag in die kokende stroop. (Die deeg kan maar redelik styf wees). Kook die kluitjies vir 5 minute op Hoog in die mikrogolfoond. Draai die kluitjies om en kook vir nog 5 minute op Hoog. Laat staan vir 2 minute. Bedien met vla, room of roomys.
NOTA: Die kluitjies kan ook in die oond gebak word vir 35 – 40 minute teen 180⁰C. Kook die stroop in die mikrogolf, skep die kluitjies in die stroop en bak dan in die oond.
